They did it (19-01-2010)
Rain came with me during my firsts riding days in Malaysia. But after I had asked to the 3 Magic Kings for some sun and some small roads, it came true. And my last days in Malaysia I got even sun. And even a nice encounter with a young couple of cyclists. He is from England and she from Russia. They were travelling alone on their way to Australia. They met in China and I can imagine some kind of fireworks inside the tent. They split and then meet again in Laos and? more fireworks. Now they travel together to the land of the kangaroo. Anna is a pretty Russian girl with some kind of fire in her cold blue eyes. He is a peaceful man. Quiet and handsome. And I only have to say that it is not fare. I am on the road more than five years and Greg only some months and he got the company for his shadow. It is nice but not fair. Good luck for this lovely couple. Hope to visit them in Australia in 2,555. Or maybe I should say 2,012. In Thailand we are in 2,553. Numbers are funny.

National sport
Going up to Thailand from the south is evident that something is wrong. Too many military forces on the street. Many controls on the road. And more Muslimism than Buddhists. Even in one temple the monk refuse me to sleep there. Very strange. But the south province had been living bad and violent situations not so far away. That is why the website of my country discourages to travel here. That is the reason there are so few tourist. That is the reason is so nice to be here. You can feel the strange atmosphere in the street. But to me, Muslimism where very nice. Even I could survive talking with them in Malayu much more easy than thai. But no so sweet. That is true. When you listen to someone talking in thai it is like a charming melody. Even if it is a mother shouting to his lazy children early in the morning.
I love Thailand. The smile is everywhere. The honesty and the simplicity. National sport is listening to the birds singing. They make competition about it. I promise you. They have special places where men, basically men, hang around until they got the special whistle for his bird. Looks like some men give more attention to the birds than to his woman. Big mistake. Thai women are really unique. A girl goes to the secondary school with a miniskirt that is a pain for your neck when you are cycling. And if they smile you the pain goes until your back.
And people are so generous. Today one man came out of his shop with two bottles of coke. He could not speak English but he smiled. At the internet sometimes I stay half an hour and they want to charge me one hour. But if I argue with them they will give me for free. At the National parks if I ask for a discount at the entrance they give me for free. And what about the food.
I am not getting weight because every day I cycle about 100 kms. But I am scare about Bangkok. There I will stop some days and I will live with a chief. Joel has been doing cooking courses at Le Cordon Bleu during more than 2 years. I can understand why his wife Cynthia is so happy with him.
But still ten days to reach Bangkok. Still more beautiful thai people in my way. Thank you very much to all that people, including monks, that had helped me on my way to Bangkok.
Peace and well being. Alvaro neil, Biciclown.
